Spinning Tower, Almere
Spinning tower, Almere NL, Project Team: René van Zuuk , Danilo Stolfi, Jan Heimer, Design: 2018-2020
The Spinning Tower is an exclusive ten-story residential tower. Its shape is made up of five segments that revolve around a core. Each apartment rotates relatively to the underlying apartment. As a result, the balconies do not lie above one another but are staggered on the facade. The first and second floors, house a duplex apartment. Apartments cover the surface of the third to the eighth floor, while a penthouse occupies the ninth and tenth floor.
Each tower segment is designed in such a way that it is possible to cut several floors from one biofoam block. The balconies are special elements, and therefore have to be cut separately. By working with biofoam, it is possible to provide the balconies with integrated benches and planters. The facade finish is from AcrylicOne, while the top layer is from clear polyester, coated with aluminum powder. This creates a seamless, silver-colored tower.
