Casablanca
The Casablanca tower has thirteen floors and a maximum of eight apartments per floor. The balconies in the Casablanca project are freely distributed over the facade. The facade consists of prefabricated sand-coloured concrete facade elements with a rough surface comparable to broken sandstone. Two elements on top of each other form a module. The top element has a balcony or a finishing piece. This construction makes the balconies appear to emerge from the facade elements. The modules are placed alternatingly so that there are never (with the exception of the entrance) two balconies next to each other. Because the balconies are distributed over the facade, you prevent wind fall and therefore wind nuisance. On the two top floors, the modules jut back to emphasise the lowness of the tower. The panels on this floor all have a finishing piece so that the top is terminated. The outdoor space on the dune on the first floor is made of wooden decking, to enhance the beach feeling. The balconies with the exotic facade give the ultimate holiday feeling. The entrance of Casablanca is two floors high. The entrance is marked by three extended balconies. Behind the entrance with its own access to the outside is the bicycle shed. Next to the entrance on the ground floor is a space for beach equipment. Here, the residents can borrow beach chairs, wind screens, barbecues and canoes to relax on the beach. The dynamic facade of Casablanca fits in perfectly with the idea of the dancing towers of Duin.
